Questions To Ask Your Prospective Security Company

Uncategorized / Jan 20, 2021

There are a lot of Auckland security companies out there, including us. We pride ourselves on offering complete security solutions for commercial, industrial and residential clients. We’ve even trusted security providers for a number of schools. We like to think we could provide the same sort of service for you, but we understand you have a choice. To help you make the right choice – and it is an important one – don’t be afraid to ask a prospective security company a few questions. These might include:

  • What services do you provide? (No point in hiring a security company that doesn’t do what you’re wanting them to do! Don’t assume that all companies offer all services.)
  • What security products do you use? (This is your opportunity to discover if they use high-quality brands as opposed to cheap and inferior brands)
  • How long have you been in business for? (Experience is key in the security industry)
  • If I call you in an emergency, will a real person answer the phone or will I receive a recorded response and have to go through several prompts? (This will give you a better idea of how “local” the company is and how quickly they will respond.)
  • Once you’ve installed a security system, what sort of support do you offer? (Some companies have better post-sales support than others.)
  • Do you offer a free on-site assessment? (Those that don’t will probably install a one-size-fits-all system which might not meet your specific requirements.)
  • Can you tell me how your monitoring works? (This is a vitally important service. The more detailed the response, the more thorough this service is likely to be.)
  • Do you stay up to date with advances in security technology? (This will help you avoid companies that offer outdated alarm systems, CCTV, intercoms, etc.)
  • Do you have any testimonials I can check out? (Any company proud of their work will jump at the opportunity to show you testimonials)
  • Do you guarantee your equipment and labour? (The answer should be a resounding YES to both those things. If it’s not, move on)

These are just a few questions you can ask to get a good feel for what a potential security company might be like to work with. We’d happily answer those questions and we think you’d be impressed by our responses. But don’t take our word for it. Contact us today and put us to the test.
